Getting Started with the Vertex Certificate Center API
Welcome to the Vertex® Certificate Center API
Certificate Center is a cloud-based management system that helps you organize and track exemption certificates and associated information.
Before you begin
For an optimal Certificate Center experience, make sure you have the browser and connection you need.
Certificate Center works with the latest versions of these internet browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
If you are new to Vertex Cloud
When you license Certificate Center, the Vertex contact in your organization receives an email invitation with:
- A Vertex Cloud link.
- An authentication key.
- Click the Vertex link to display a login page.
- Enter your email (user name) and create a password to set up the principal Certificate Center administrator login.
If you already license another Vertex application
When you log in, Certificate Center displays in the list of applications on your Vertex dashboard.
Setup
How you use Certificate Center determines your setup. At minimum, the process includes four steps:
- Review Certificate Center basics - Become familiar with Certificate Center's structure and relationships, and how you interact with it.
- Review account settings and set up users - Confirm your company information and credentials, and set up the permissions for your Certificate Center users.
- Adjust your Vertex® O Series settings.
- O Series Cloud - Vertex handles your configuration.
- Other O Series deployments:
- You can configure an information sync between the Certificate Center and O Series.
- (On-Premise only) You can use the security settings to access Certificate Center via an HTTP proxy.
- Adjust your Certificate Center settings - Customize your Certificate Center experience.
After you finish setup
Decide how you want to populate Certificate Center:
-
Use this API or the Certificate Center UI to create individual records.
-
Use the Certificate Center bulk upload feature to create multiple records simultaneously.
From the Certificate Center UI, click the Help icon
for more information.
-
Use the Exemption Certificate Wizard (EC Wizard or ECW). To submit certificates using this self-service tool, set it up to launch from a link on your website. Follow a series of prompts to provide exemption information to Certificate Center.
Certificates submitted via EC Wizard display at Pending status so you can review them before they are accepted or rejected.
Settings for EC Wizard are on the Certificate Center UI.
-
Use Exemption Certificate Outsourcing, an optional service from Vertex Consulting.
