Release Notes
Read about what was added in the releases.
For SaaS solutions, Vertex Release Notes communicate changes in behavior, enhancements, and features. In each release, Vertex also improves performance and quality and remediates security vulnerabilities. Release Notes are available in Vertex Developer Network for all customers regardless of license. For specific information about a specific case, visit the Support section of Vertex Community or contact Customer Support.
Releases for 2025 are listed here:
July 31 2025
- Support was added for Digital goods for Senegal. See Supported Countries and Regions.
- Tax IDs can be added in the
seller_tax_number
field for each country. This allows for multiple registrations. - Invoice numbers can now be issued in distinct sequences for different product classes like Digital or Physical.
- Tax IDs that are prefixed with
XI
are now validated by VIES instead of HMRC. - The country code is now added as a prefix to Tax IDs in API responses, even if you did not send a prefix in the request.
- The
external_unique_id
field limit is now 39 characters. - The standard VAT rate for Estonia changed from 22% to 24%. This took effect on July 1.
- A Cancel button was added to the List UI. See List UI.
- A flag was added to the UI for United States Minor Outlying Islands (UM).
- The standard VAT rate for Vietnam increased from 5% to 8%. This took effect on July 1.
- A new logo was added to the Dashboard.
- You can now add tax exemptions per line.
June 2 2025
- The
buyer_email
field now has a minimum length of 1 as well as the previous maximum of 64 for Taiwan. This is explained in the Mandatory and Required Fields topic. - Support has been added for physical goods. More information is provided in the Physical Goods topic.
- You can add custom Tax IDs to your requests. This is explained in the Custom Tax ID Type topic.
- Support was added for the Philippines.
- Vertex can now set minimum and maximum lengths for required fields.
May 15 2025 (HotFix)
- Support has been added for suffixes for Swiss Tax IDs. This is explained in the Switzerland Configuration topic.
April 30
- Swiss Tax IDs now must use the suffix MWST, TVA, or IVA. IDs not using this suffix will be classified as invalid and treated as per your settings for Switzerland.
- For Canadian and Taiwanese refunds, the foreign exchange rate used for the refund is now the rate that was for the original sale.
- Canadian GST Tax IDs must be suffixed with 2 letters and 4 numbers to be considered a valid GST ID.
March 27
- Support is added for Uganda and Morocco. Details are provided in the Supported Countries and Regions topic.
- The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) tax rate for Nova Scotia decreased from 15% to 14%.
- The tax base was adjusted for Indonesia. More details are provided in the Indonesia topic.
March 13
- A new
manual:true
field has been added to reports to indicate whether the report was run manually from the UI or scheduled. See the Automatic Scheduling section of the Detailed Settlement Report topic. - Reporting performance has been improved. Your performance may vary due to differences in your implementation or environment.
- E-mail notifications are now available for Vertex Advantage Plus.
- Tax has been added to credit note headers for Oman.
- Decimal places have been removed for the following currencies:
- Vietnamese Dong (VND)
- South Korean Won (KRW)
- Japanese Yen (JPY)
- Chilean Peso (CLP)
- Indonesian Rupiah (IDR)
January 13
- Unique Identification Number (UIN) validation for Egypt is now supported. This is described in the Egypt Configuration topic.
- The Canary Islands is now supported as a region for Vertex for e-Commerce, Vertex Validator and Vertex Invoice IQ. It is NOT supported for Taxamo Assure and Vertex Advantage Plus. See Supported Countries and Regions.
- Standalone UIs are now available for Vertex Advantage Plus users.
- The following non standard regions and use cases are supported in Vertex Advantage Plus:
- Japan
- Indonesia
- Advance payments in the UK
- New settings for B2B validation caching are available.
- The word "Tax" is now included in the header of credit notes for Oman.
- Standalone Vertex Invoice IQ users can now pass through tax amounts without any calculation being done. These are called Informative Invoices. This is described in the Informative Invoices topic.
- Uruguay is now supported by Vertex Advantage Plus.
