Configure your field mappings

Complete these steps to configure your custom field mappings.

A metafield definition can change the functionality and appearance of your store by collecting custom information not typically captured in your Shopify admin. The Vertex for Shopify integration can use a metafield to send this custom information to Vertex O Series during a quote or invoice request.

You can add a metafield definition to your products, variants, or customers that use one of the following types:

  • Single-line text
  • Multi-line text
  • Rich text
  • Decimal
  • Integer
  • Date and time
  • Date
  • True or false

You can add a metafield definition to a field mapping, mapping it to a flexible field in Vertex O Series. Metafields are added for each store, allowing you to create different field mappings for your other stores. Log in to the appropriate store before adding metafields to the field mappings.

📘

Note:

Customer metafields are supported only on invoices. The integration doesn't send them on quotes.

📘

Note:

You can add up to 25 flexible fields, regardless of the metafield type.
