Configure your IOSS transactions
Complete these steps to configure your Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) transactions.
The Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) is a European Union (EU) logic that simplifies the collection and payment of value added tax (VAT) on online sales of physical goods valued at €150 or less, shipped across borders. To support this logic, the Vertex for Shopify integration automatically identifies whether products are physical or digital goods and handles tax calculation using flexible fields in both quote and invoice requests. You configure these flexible fields in Vertex O Series.
Vertex for Shopify automatically populates the flexible fields for every order line item. However, Vertex O Series calculates values only for physical goods. This process captures the currency and amount details across the entire IOSS transaction, resulting in more reliable reporting and journal records.
Note:
IOSS transaction changes are not supported. The first order creation is the final transaction that Vertex for Shopify uses for the IOSS calculation.
You can add custom metafield definitions to your field mappings to override the flexible fields. When you add these field mappings, Vertex for Shopify assumes you're handling these values, and the integration won't automatically send IOSS transaction details to Vertex O Series.
