Include taxes in your product prices

Some countries include sales tax in product prices and shipping rates. Determine whether your product prices and shipping rates are tax inclusive or tax exclusive. To display tax-inclusive prices, configure your tax settings on the Taxes and duties page in your Shopify admin.

When you include sales tax in the displayed prices, your customers see the total price, including tax. The subtotal and total match, but the amount of tax you need to remit for an order is also indicated during checkout and in your order details.

Include taxes in your product prices

To include sales tax in your product prices and shipping rates, follow these steps:

1. In your Shopify admin, select Settings > Taxes and duties.
2. In the Global settings section, do the following:
   1. To include sales tax, click Include sales tax in product price and shipping rate.
   2. To exclude sales tax, clear Include sales tax in product price and shipping rate.
3. Click Save.
