Install Vertex for Shopify

You can install the Vertex for Shopify integration from the Taxes and duties page in your Shopify admin.

Before you begin

You must allow browser pop-ups and redirects to authorize use of the Vertex for Shopify integration.

Vertex for Shopify uses the credentials you create in Vertex O Series to connect your account. These credentials include your client ID and client secret.

If you have existing credentials, you can use them to connect your account. If you need new credentials:

• For O Series Cloud, create the credentials in Account Settings.
• For O Series On-Premise and On-Demand, create the credentials in System > Security > API Credentials.

Note:

The client secret displays only once. You must either copy the client secret to the clipboard or manually record it. After you close the page, the client secret can't be retrieved. If you lose the client secret, you can rotate it to a new value or create new credentials.

There may be up to a 15-minute delay in recognizing new credentials.

Install the integration

To install the integration, follow these steps:

1. In your Shopify admin, select Settings > Taxes and duties.
2. In the Tax service section, click Manage.
3. In the Apps section, find Vertex Tax & Compliance, and then click Install.
4. Review the information in the About and Setting up sections, and then click Install Vertex Tax & Compliance.
5. Review the privacy and permission information, and then click Install.

Connect your account

To connect the credentials to your account, follow these steps:

1. Enter the Company Code, Client ID, and Client Secret.
2. Enter the O Series URL.
   1. For O Series Cloud, you can ignore this field.
   2. For the O Series On-Premise, enter the address provided by your network administrator.
   3. For O Series On-Demand, enter the address provided by your Vertex Consultant.
3. Click Connect Account.
