Uninstall Vertex for Shopify

You can deactivate or uninstall the Vertex for Shopify integration from the Taxes and duties page in your Shopify admin.

Deactivating the Vertex for Shopify integration stops it from calculating taxes, but keeps the connection and tax settings available in your Shopify admin. Uninstalling Vertex for Shopify removes the connection and all the tax settings from your Shopify admin.

When you deactivate or uninstall the Vertex for Shopify integration, your tax calculations revert to being determined by the tax settings in your Shopify admin. In most cases, your tax settings revert to the tax service you used before you activated the integration.

Before you begin

Before you uninstall, consider the following:

• Uninstalling stops the integration from calculating taxes.
• Uninstalling reverts your tax settings to Shopify's default tax service.
• Other stores using the integration are not affected.

If you uninstall the Vertex for Shopify integration and later want to use it to calculate your taxes, you must reinstall, configure, and activate it again.

Deactivate the integration

To deactivate the integration, follow these steps:

1. In your Shopify admin, select Settings > Taxes and duties.
2. In the Tax service section, find Vertex Tax & Compliance, and then click Configure.
3. Click Deactivate Vertex Tax & Compliance. The deactivation banner displays at the top of the page.

Uninstall the integration

To uninstall the integration, follow these steps:

1. In your Shopify admin, select Settings > Taxes and duties.
2. In the Tax service section, find Vertex Tax & Compliance, and then click Configure.
3. Click Uninstall Vertex Tax & Compliance.
4. In the Reason for uninstalling (optional) dropdown list, select a reason for uninstalling the connector.
5. Click Uninstall.
