Vertex Validator is an API-based solution that automates business tax identification number validation. Seamlessly integrate the service into your e-commerce, marketplace, and online platforms to support global indirect tax determination and compliance, streamline customer and vendor onboarding management, and support audit readiness.

Supported features

Here's a list of features supported in this service:

• Validate tax numbers across more than 70 countries and regions.
• Enhance European Union (EU) validation with access to local validation sources.
• Improve validation reliability with a global validation cache that reduces errors caused by database unavailability.
• Access validation data through interfaces and reports, including CSV exports and API-based reporting.

CAPTCHA validation

Some tax authorities require CAPTCHA validation before tax number validation. There are two methods for configuring CAPTCHA validation. For more information, see CAPTCHA Validation.

Validator cache

The service can temporarily store validation responses for tax numbers returned by external tax authorities. Cached data includes tax number validity status and, where provided by the tax authority, the associated business name and address. For more information, see Validator Cache.

Integrated Vertex Validator

Integrated Vertex Validator automates tax number validation during tax determination in Vertex O Series Cloud. Enable the service to automatically validate tax numbers during tax determination.

If the service validates a tax number, the service includes it in the tax calculation and applies the appropriate business-to-business (B2B) tax treatment. If the service determines that the tax number is invalid, it excludes it and applies the appropriate business-to-consumer (B2C) tax treatment.
