Incoming and Outgoing Communications

Communications can be sent to the service or sent from it to other parties.

Communications can be incoming or outgoing. Some specifics of the routing configuration may differ depending on the scenario. However, all communications require the routing details that are described in the Routing Overview topic.

Communications are also bi-directional so when we refer the Direction here, we mean the main instance of the communication.

For example, a B2G communication is primarily sent from Vertex e-Invoicing to the Government or Tax Authority. This communication can include a response from the Government. It is mostly an outgoing communication.

Incoming communications

Inbound communications are sent to Vertex e-Invoicing from your applications or from parties like Buyers and Suppliers.

Outgoing communications

Outbound communications are sent from Vertex e-Invoicing to other parties such as a Tax Authority, Buyer or Supplier.
